Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is hiring an ECEAP Lead Teacher for the preschool program. The role develops an inclusive, child-centered curriculum, plans daily activities, and partners with families to support each child’s learning and development.

The ideal candidate holds the required ECE credentials and brings experience in a preschool setting, with strong collaboration and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or higher with 30 ECE credits or WA teaching certification in ECE/PreK-3.
• 15 ECE credits preferred.
• One school year (9 months) preschool classroom experience.
• Preference for current or former E-Start parents.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive learning environment and diverse experiences.
• Collaborate with assistant teacher and site team to engage families.
• Plan daily routines, lesson plans, and inclusive curriculum.
• Support health, safety, and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Maintain classroom records and participate in planning meetings.
• Recruit and support enrollment and family events.
• Coordinate with interpreters and language resources as needed.
• Supervise and mentor preschool teaching assistants.
