Comanche Nation Headquarters is seeking an ECDC Support Specialist to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment in a dynamic childcare setting. The role combines transportation, facility upkeep, and classroom support to help staff and families operate smoothly.

The ideal candidate will have a valid driver license, experience in janitorial or childcare environments, and the ability to pass background checks while upholding high safety and cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

  • Transport children safely to and from school or designated locations.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks and sanitize surfaces.
  • Maintain bathrooms, breakroom, lobby, dining area and conference room.
  • Support classroom and kitchen staff as needed.
  • Assist with setup, cleanup and supervision for activities.
  • Perform basic maintenance and assist with furniture installation and assembly.

OPENING DATE: September 11, 2026CLOSING DATE: Open Until FilledPOSITION SUMMARY: he Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) Support Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for children, staff, and families. This position combines transportation responsibilities with facility maintenance, janitorial services, and general support for classrooms and kitchen operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a dynamic childcare setting.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Transportation Duties:Safely transport children to and from school or designated locations using a center-approved vehicle or busConduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and complianceMaintain order and ensure children follow safety procedures during transportAdhere to all traffic laws, childcare transportation regulations, and center policiesFacilities & Janitorial Duties:Perform routine cleaning tasks including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfacesClean and maintain bathrooms, breakroom, staff lounge, dining hall, front lobby, and conference roomEmpty trash, restock supplies, and ensure all areas remain hygienic and presentableMonitor facility cleanliness and report maintenance issues as neededPlayground & Outdoor Maintenance:Keep playground areas clean, safe, and free of trash and hazardous or broken equipmentPerform basic upkeep to ensure a safe play environment for childrenGeneral Maintenance & Setup:Assemble and install furniture such as shelves, cribs, and classroom equipmentDrill and mount items (e.g., wall fixtures, shelving) as neededPerform minor repairs and general upkeep tasks around the facilityClassroom & Kitchen Support:Assist teachers or kitchen staff when needed, including setup, cleanup, or supervision supportHelp maintain organization and cleanliness in classrooms and food service areas.REPORTS TO: Will Report to Site Director and/or CCDF AdministratorPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to lift and carry up to 50 poundsCapable of standing, bending, kneeling, and performing physical labor including but not limited to climb, crouch, pull, push, reach, stand engage in repetitive motions, grasp, walk, feel, touch, speak, hear and see throughout the dayWORK ENVIRONMENT:Active childcare setting with frequent interaction with children and staffBoth indoor and outdoor work requiredMay require flexible hours depending on transportation schedules and center needsQUALIFICATIONS:Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL may be required depending on vehicle type)Experience in janitorial, maintenance, or childcare settings preferredAbility to pass background checks and meet childcare licensing requirementsStrong attention to detail and commitment to safety and cleanlinessAbility to work independently and as part of a teamBENEFITS PACKAGE:Annual Leave (4 hours per pay period)Sick Leave (4 hours per pay period)Birthday LeaveBereavement Leave (5 paid days off for specified family members)Fifteen (15) Paid HolidaysMedical Insurance (100% employer paid for employee only)Dental Insurance (100% employer paid for employee only)Life Insurance (100% employer paid for employee only- $40K coverage)401K-up to 3% matchVOLUNTARY BENEFITS (100% employee paid via payroll deduction):Medical Insurance BCBS (Spouse, Child(ren), and Family coverage available)Dental Insurance Delta Dental (Spouse, Child(ren), and Family coverage available)Vision Insurance VSP (Employee, Spouse, Child(ren), and Family coverage available)Short-term DisabilityLong-term DisabilityAdditional Employee Life InsuranceSpouse, and Child Life InsuranceAFLACEQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER: The Comanche Nation does not discriminate in employment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), national origin, political affiliation, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, genetic information, age, membership in an employee organization, retaliation, parental status, military service, or other non-merit factor.COMANCHE PREFERENCE applies in accordance to the Comanche Nation Human Resources Policies and Procedures.
