Job summary

Johnston County Public Schools North Johnston Middle in Selma, North Carolina is seeking an EC Teacher for Extended Content Standards to support students with diverse learning needs. The position reports to the Principal and may coordinate teacher assistants.

The teacher will plan, organize and present instruction and environments that help students learn essential subjects and social development, following district guidelines.

Responsibilities

• A. MAJOR FUNCTION: Management of Instructional Time — The teacher has materials, supplies, and equipment for each lesson ready at the start, starts class promptly, and maintains high student time-on-task.
• B. MAJOR FUNCTION: Management of Student Behavior — Establishes rules and procedures for behavior and participation; monitors and redirects behavior while preserving student dignity.
• C. MAJOR FUNCTION: Instructional Presentation — Delivers clear instruction with relevant examples, checks understanding, maintains pacing and effective transitions.
• D. MAJOR FUNCTION: Instructional Monitoring of Student Performance — Uses assessments to monitor progress and provide timely feedback.
• E. MAJOR FUNCTION: Instructional Feedback — Provides prompt feedback on in-class and out-of-class work to promote growth.
• F. MAJOR FUNCTION: Facilitating Instruction — Aligns objectives, strategies, and assessments with student needs and district goals.
