Job summary

Movement Schools is seeking an Exceptional Children’s Teacher to deliver high-quality special education instruction and support to scholars with disabilities in Atlanta. You will collaborate with school leaders, families, and service providers to ensure individualized support helps each scholar thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid state special education certification (or eligibility).
• Experience teaching scholars with disabilities.
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development and compliance.
• Commitment to Movement Schools’ mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to scholars with disabilities aligned with IEP goals.
• Differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum to meet learner needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices.
• Monitor progress and use data to inform instruction and interventions.
• Participate in IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
• Support social-emotional growth and positive behavior.
• Communicate with families to share progress and build partnership.
• Collaborate with service providers and school leadership for cohesive support.
• Maintain accurate documentation and IDEA/state compliance.
