Job summary

Sugar Creek Charter School is seeking an Exceptional Children's (EC) Resource Teacher to provide targeted academic and behavioral interventions within a resource setting. You will tailor instruction to IEP goals and collaborate with families and staff to support student success.

The role requires NC EC endorsement, experience in resource or inclusion settings, and a commitment to equity and student growth within a mission-driven school community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Valid North Carolina teaching license with an EC endorsement.
• Experience as an EC teacher, preferably in resource or inclusion settings.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, differentiated instruction, accommodations, and assistive technology.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Passion for student growth and commitment to ensuring all learners succeed.

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group and one-on-one specialized instruction in a resource setting to address IEP goals.
• Implement evidence-based interventions in reading, math, and writing tailored to individual needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to align instruction with IEP goals and grade-level learning.
• Use progress monitoring tools and data to track growth and adjust instruction.
• Maintain IEP documentation, progress reports, and service logs and participate in IEP meetings.
