Job summary

Sugar Creek Charter School is seeking an EC Resource Teacher to provide targeted academic and behavioral interventions in a resource setting, aligned with each student’s IEP. The role emphasizes collaboration with general education staff, families, and support staff to promote progress in reading, math, and writing.

The ideal candidate will have strong skills in differentiated instruction, IEP development, and behavior management, while ensuring compliance with IDEA and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field required.
• Valid North Carolina teaching license with Exceptional Children’s endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group and one-on-one instruction in a resource setting aligned to students' IEP goals.
• Implement targeted evidence-based interventions for reading, math, and writing tailored to individual needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to align instruction with IEP goals and grade-level standards.
• Use progress monitoring tools and formative assessments to track student growth and adjust instruction.
• Ensure students receive appropriate accommodations and modifications per their IEPs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs to ensure compliance with IDEA and state regulations.
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and data reviews.
• Collaborate with counselors, interventionists, and service providers to support students with diverse needs.
• Engage in MTSS/RTI processes and ongoing professional development.
