Responsibilities

Provide small-group and one-on-one specialized instruction in a resource setting to address students' IEP goals.
Implement structured, evidence-based interventions that support student learning in reading, math, and writing, tailored to individual needs.
Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure instruction is aligned to address both students' IEP goals and grade level learning.
Use progress monitoring tools and formative assessments to track student growth and adjust instruction as needed.
Ensure students are provided appropriate accommodations and modifications in alignment with their IEPs.
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to ensure compliance with IDEA and state regulations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including IEPs, progress reports, and service logs.
Facilitate and participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and data reviews.
Collaborate with school counselors, interventionists, and service providers to support students with diverse learning needs.
Partner with general education teachers to ensure that students successfully access the curriculum in both resource, inclusion, and intensive resource settings.
Embrace a growth mindset by actively seeking and applying feedback to enhance instructional practices and student learning outcomes.
Participate in planning and coaching sessions with curriculum leaders.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, goals, and strategies for support at home.
Participate in MTSS and RTI processes to identify student needs and appropriate interventions.
Engage in professional development to stay current with best practices in special education, intervention strategies, and behavior management.
Contribute to the school community through team meetings, committees, and events.

Job Description

Position Overview:

Sugar Creek Charter School's mission is to eradicate generational poverty by providing a rigorous, college and career preparatory education for students from kindergarten through 12th grade, focusing on academic preparation, college and career readiness, and life skills for success. We are seeking a dedicated and mission-aligned Exceptional Children's (EC) Resource Teacher to join our team. Our EC Intensive teachers teach grade level content using the strategies and skills included in the students IEP to address content gaps between current performance and grade level achievement. Intensive teachers serve as teacher of record providing all ELA and/or math instruction to scholars in identified groups.

This role focuses on providing targeted academic and behavioral interventions for students with disabilities in a resource setting while supporting their success in the general education classroom.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in differentiated instruction, individualized intervention planning, and behavior management while collaborating closely with teachers, families, and support staff to provide specialized instruction and holistic student support

Key Responsibilities:

Instruction & Student Support:
