Responsibilities

Develops and implements an instructional plan aligned with school and system goals and IEPs.
Develops IEPs for students with disabilities; updates based on diagnostic information and progress.
Provides direct special education instruction to identified students.
Uses a variety of teaching methods and adapts materials as needed.
Creates Classroom Management Plans and monitors behavior per IEP and BIP.
Provides daily social skills instruction and opportunities to practice skills.
Assists disabled students with personal and self-help needs.
Facilitates, develops and monitors FBA as needed.
Monitors academic and attendance performance; communicates progress to parents.
Acts as case coordinator and collaborates with caregivers and professionals.
Maintains student records per state procedures and ensures compliance with laws.
