Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold or have the ability to obtain North Carolina Teacher Licensure or meet Residency Teacher Licensure.
• Must hold or have the ability to obtain EC Certification.
• Knowledge of curriculum and referral and placement procedures.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements an instructional plan aligned to IEP goals.
• Develops and updates IEPs using diagnostic data and progress monitoring.
• Provides direct special education instruction to identified students.
• Uses varied teaching methods and adapts materials as needed.
• Creates Classroom Management Plans and monitors behavior goals.
• Communicates with parents regarding student progress.
• Acts as case coordinator and collaborates with care- givers and professionals.
• Maintains student records in accordance with NC procedures.
