Qualifications

• Must have a two year degree or 48 hours of college coursework.
• Ability to supervise and support students in classroom, lunch, and activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Follow written and spoken instructions and school policies.

Responsibilities

• Follow all rules, policies and regulations pertaining to school issues.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist in devising strategies tailored to individual students’ needs.
• Strive to maintain professional competence and support the school vision.
• Monitor student behavior and assist with crisis prevention and de-escalation as needed.
• Ensure safety and well-being of students during activities and transitions.
• Perform clerical duties: attendance, grade papers, file incident reports, maintain records.
• Assist with large group activities and classroom routines.
• Serve as information source for substitute teachers and teachers in absence.
