Job summary

Wayne County Public Schools, Rosewood Middle, is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support teachers and students in the classroom and during lunch to help provide quality instruction in a safe environment.

The ideal candidate will maintain student confidentiality, follow detailed instructions, assist with small groups, testing, clerical tasks, and supervision during activities, emergencies, and drill periods.

Qualifications

• Must have either an Associate's Degree, or 48 hours of transferable college coursework, or completion of Pathways to Teacher Assistant I (48 hours) and Teacher Assistant Training II (48 hours) for 96 contact hours, and bus driver certification as required by the principal.

Responsibilities

• Follow rules, policies, and procedures; comply with state and federal regulations.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce material.
• Monitor work and progress of students.
• Assist with testing as a proctor and provide behavior support as needed.
• Perform clerical duties and maintain student progress records.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
