Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of practices for teaching students with disabilities.
• Familiarity with classroom daily routines and rules.
• Strong verbal and written communication with staff, parents and students.
• Ability to monitor safety during inclusive activities.
• Ability to motivate students and support independence.
• Experience with classroom equipment and instructional tech.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• ACCOMPANIES and supports the student throughout the school day.
• Maintains student safety.
• Assists with basic daily living tasks as needed.
• Supports implementation of behavior plans and therapy as required.
• Collaborates with teachers and staff for progress on IEP goals.
• Assists with mobility and use of assistive devices and transport when needed.
• Collects data to monitor student progress and prepares instructional materials.
