Job summary

Shakopee Public Schools seeks a 1.0 FTE Long Term Sub Center-Based Special Education teacher for students with Emotional Behavioral Disabilities at Eagle Creek Elementary School from mid-September 2026 through December 2026. The role focuses on delivering direct and indirect services, monitoring progress, developing IEPs, and leading team meetings while coordinating with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Current and valid MN teaching license in ASD, EBD, DCD or ABS.
• Prior teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect services to students with learning and/or social, emotional and behavioral needs; monitor and document student progress; develop/manage IEPs and facilitate team meetings; oversee paraprofessionals and collaborate with families and other staff on services and strategies.
