Job summary

Shakopee Public Schools in Minnesota seeks a 1.0 FTE Center-Based Special Education teacher to serve elementary students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) for the 2026-2027 school year.

Deliver direct and indirect services, monitor progress, develop/manage IEPs, and collaborate with families, staff and paraprofessionals to support student success in a supportive educational environment.

Qualifications

• Current and valid MN teaching license in ASD, EBD, DCD or ABS
• Prior teaching experience preferred
• Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction
• Strong classroom management skills
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect services to students with learning and/or social, emotional and behavioral needs; monitor and document student progress; develop/manage IEPs and facilitate team meetings; oversee paraprofessionals and collaborate with families and other staff on services and strategies
