Job summary

Shakopee Public Schools is seeking a 1.0 FTE Center-Based Special Education teacher to support K-5 students with Autism Spectrum Disorders during the 2026-2027 school year.

Deliver direct and indirect services, monitor progress, develop and manage IEPs, and lead team meetings while collaborating with families and school staff to implement effective instructional strategies in an inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

• Current and valid MN teaching license in ASD, EBD, DCD or ABS.
• Prior teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect services to students with ASD.
• Monitor and document student progress.
• Develop and manage IEPs and facilitate team meetings.
• Oversee paraprofessionals and collaborate with families and staff on services and strategies.
