Job summary

Emily Program in Durham, NC is seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist to support milieu therapy, lead skills groups, and assist clients with meals during treatment. The role emphasizes CBT/DBT-based activities, trauma-informed care, and collaborative treatment planning.

The candidate will work onsite 32 hours per week with a schedule including Tue-Fri shifts. A high school diploma is required; higher education in behavioral health is preferred, with minimum 1 year of direct patient care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a mental/behavioral health field strongly preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of direct patient care in mental/behavioral health required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates therapy groups including skills groups (CBT/DBT), self-monitoring, and experiential activities.
• Supports therapeutic meals and snacks as part of treatment.
• Maintains recovery-focused therapeutic environment.
• Participates in treatment planning and team meetings.
• Completes clinical documentation per policy and standards.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
