Job summary

Veit & Company, Inc. seeks an Earthwork Superintendent/Foreman to manage daily site activities, ensure safety, and align with design, budget, and schedule. You will lead field staff and coordinate with general superintendents to meet timeframes and quality standards.

The role requires 2–5 years of related experience and safety certifications; union affiliation is common. Expect 8–10 hour days with potential weekend work on a variety of earthwork projects at union scale rates.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have 2–5 years of related field experience or an equivalent education/experience mix.
• OSHA 10/30, HAZWOPER, Blueprint Training, CPR/First Aid or equivalent certifications preferred.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret plans, specs, policies and legal documents.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily site activities to meet safety, design, budget and schedule requirements.
• Directly manage lead personnel and field staff on each project site.
• Coordinate with general superintendents and crews on workforce and equipment needs.
• Schedule and monitor subcontractors to ensure timely completion per contracts.
• Maintain safe work environment and communicate safety procedures and policies.
• Prepare and participate in job site meetings and project planning.
• Document safety issues, equipment damage and injuries per company procedures.
• Ensure quality compliance of field work and review manufacturer drawings.
