Job summary

Veit & Company, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Superintendent/Foreman to oversee daily site operations on Earthwork projects, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion.

You will manage lead personnel and on-site staff, coordinate with general superintendents, and drive efficiency and compliance. Responsibilities include scheduling subcontractors, maintaining safety programs, conducting daily meetings, logging daily records, and upholding project quality.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• OSHA 10-hour preferred; OSHA 30-hour, HAZWOPER, Excavating Safety Training, Blueprint Training, CPR, First Aid.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, reports, construction plans, construction specifications, and legal documents.
• Ability to use Outlook, Word, Excel, iPad, and iPhone.
• Ability to communicate and schedule project needs appropriately.
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with employees, clients, and other business associates.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts; apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily with General Superintendents on workforce and equipment needs.
• Schedule and monitor subcontractors to meet the project timeline.
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure safety procedures.
• Conduct Job Hazard Awareness meetings and toolbox talks.
• Complete daily logs, equipment and material schedules, and timecards.
• Provide leadership and supervision to field personnel and enforce company policies.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings and ongoing project planning.
• Provide timely documentation for safety and incident reporting.
• Ensure work meets quality standards by inspecting field work and reviewing drawings.
• Address staff performance issues; conduct performance evaluations.
• Hire, train, and develop direct reports; manage disciplinary actions.
