Job summary

Veit & Company, Inc. is seeking a Superintendent/Foreman to oversee daily Earthwork site operations, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance. You will manage on-site personnel, coordinate with general superintendents and subcontractors, and maintain thorough documentation.

The role requires experience in construction leadership, strong communication, and the ability to read plans and specifications. A union environment and standard training opportunities are part of the job offerings.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• OSHA 10-hour (preferred but not required), OSHA 30-hour, HAZWOPER certificate, Excavating Safety Training, Blueprint Training, CPR, First Aid.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, reports, construction plans, construction specifications, and legal documents.
• Ability to use Outlook, Word, Excel, iPad, and iPhone.
• Ability to communicate and schedule project needs appropriately.
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written with employees, clients, and other business associates.

Responsibilities

• Directly manages on-site lead personnel and staff.
• Schedules subcontractors and monitors work per subcontractor agreements.
• Maintains a safe working environment and ensures safety procedures are followed.
• Prepares daily logs, equipment and material schedules, and timecards.
• Participates in pre-construction and regular job site meetings.
• Ensures quality standards and reviews drawings and manufacturer literature.
