Job summary

Mitigation Resources Of North America, LLC is seeking an experienced Construction Earthwork Estimator to lead bid development for excavation, grading, and earth-moving projects, from proposal through award. The role analyzes blueprints, specs, site conditions, and coordinates with engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure accurate, timely cost estimates and profitable outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management, 5+ years in earthwork

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred but not required.
• At least five years of direct work experience in excavation and grading - project estimation or construction management.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of construction processes.
• Ability to travel up to 30%.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; liaise with vendors and clients.

Responsibilities

• Assess the financial, technical, and operational risk of the project, including input into the decision on whether to bid on the project.
• Conduct complex risk analysis activities and produce associated reports.
• Perform complex analysis of collected data and metrics and prepare relevant and reliable forecasts.
• Visit construction sites to obtain the necessary project-required information.
• Evaluate proposals, specifications, blueprints, and construction documents to understand the project.
• Work closely with the construction project manager to oversee and coordinate the bid process for vendors and subcontractors.
• Review contracts, subcontracts, and agreements to ensure compliance with project requirements, risk mitigation, and financial feasibility.
• Estimate time, labor, materials, and product costs to determine the overall cost of construction projects.
• Produce written proposals, cost estimates, budgets, and updates for clients and project managers.
• Provide accurate and clear quantity takeoff information to provide a detailed list of materials and assess the total construction costs.
• Provide quality assurance and quality control of construction activities.
• Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment and increase employee safety awareness.
• Review public and private land restoration and reclamation opportunities.
• Prepare post-project analyses of estimated vs. actual costs and profitability.
• Other duties as assigned
