Job summary

Thompson Tractor Company is seeking an Earthmoving Shop Technician to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on earthmoving equipment including engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical components. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and proper use of service information systems.

Responsibilities include disassembly/reassembly, testing components, and timely ordering/returning of parts. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in mechanical repairs or equivalent technical education.
• Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills.
• CDL and medical card preferred; MVR required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety standards and procedures.
• Plans and performs minor repairs using proper tools and procedures.
• Removes, installs, disassembles and reassembles components on engines, hydraulics, transmissions and electrical systems.
• Performs preventative maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Uses service information systems effectively.
• Orders and returns parts for assigned jobs in a timely manner.
• Tests and adjusts components for optimal performance.
• Works independently in the shop.
• Must have a valid driver’s license to be eligible for hire.
