Job summary

Thompson Tractor Company is seeking an Earthmoving Shop Technician to service engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical components in our service department. You will perform minor repairs, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting, test components, and use service information systems.

A valid driver’s license is required; MVR checks may apply. Strong practical mechanical skills and the ability to work independently in a shop environment are essential for this role,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of mechanical repairs experience or equivalent technical education.
• MVR required.
• Med Card and CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to and follows safety standards and procedures.
• Plans and performs minor repairs using correct tools and procedures.
• Performs tasks on engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical components: remove/install, disassemble/reassemble, minor adjustments.
• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrates proper use of service information systems.
• Orders and returns parts for assigned jobs in a timely manner.
• Tests and adjusts components for optimal performance.
• Works independently in the shop as required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license to be eligible for hire.
