Job summary

Thompson Tractor Company is seeking an Earthmoving Shop Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on earthmoving equipment, including engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical components.

Duties include disassembly and reassembly, testing and adjusting components for optimal performance, diagnosing and troubleshooting, ordering parts, and working independently in the shop; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• A minimum of one year of mechanical repair experience or equivalent technical education.
• Med Card and CDL preferred.
• MVR required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety standards and procedures.
• Plans and performs minor repairs with correct tools and procedures.
• Disassembles and reassembles engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical components as needed.
• Performs preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrates proper use of service information systems.
• Orders and returns parts for assigned jobs promptly.
• Tests and adjusts components for optimal performance.
• Works independently in the shop.
• Maintains proper documentation and records.
