Job summary

Republic Services offers a Technician Apprenticeship program across the United States designed to train entry-level technicians over two years. Trainees will begin with nine weeks of paid training at the Republic Services Technical Institute in Dallas, TX, followed by on-the-job training across various units and mentorship to reach Apprentice certification as a Diesel Mechanic.

Graduates may advance to Level C Technician while gaining leadership and life-skills training within a supportive team

Qualifications

• Must commit to the two-year program.
• Interest in engineering and technology.
• Willingness to travel to Dallas for 9 weeks of in-person training.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel fleet equipment.
• Diagnose electrical starting and charging system issues.
• Identify and inspect air conditioning, hydraulics, wheel ends and air systems.
• Learn and apply maintenance procedures under mentorship toward Apprentice certification.
