The Patient Care Technician at VCU Health System Authority works under RN direction to provide direct, age-appropriate care as part of the care team. Eligible nursing students in the Earn to Learn program support patient comfort, safety, and basic care activities across units.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, recording vital signs, assisting with hygiene and mobility, and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
• Licensure/certification: AHA BLS HCP or equivalent.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct, age-appropriate patient care under RN or licensed practitioner.
• Monitor patient conditions and report updates to health care team.
• Maintain safe, clean, stocked environment per policy.
• Record initial and ongoing patient information (vital signs, intake/output, etc.).
• Assist with feeding, hygiene, mobility, and comfort as needed.
