Job summary

No formal education is required, and six months of package handler experience is preferred. A valid driver’s license and DOT compliance are required, with training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• Six (6) months of experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers to and from unload/load doors or yard as required.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Handle packages using hand-to-surface methods and load/unload onto vehicles, trailers, carts, or gratings.
• Sort packages by reading labels, scanning, and following safety procedures.
