Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking personnel to move trailers within yards and assist with loading and unloading packages. You will operate yard-switching equipment, document movements, and follow DOT safety rules while working in a team-based environment.

Experience is not strictly required, but a valid driver’s license and ability to read labels and numbers are essential. Training and safety protocols are provided, with multiple shifts available to meet demand.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow safety instructions and work duties.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment listed (rollers, carts, scanners, chutes).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Perform trailer switches, hooking and moving trailers between yard and doors.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Carry out pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Perform package handling as needed, loading/unloading packages onto vehicles or conveyors.
• Sort packages by scanning labels and numbers, and operate related equipment.
