Qualifications

• No experience required; six months preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to read labels and sort packages correctly.

Responsibilities

• Performs trailer switches between yard and doors.
• Coordinates trailer movements with management/central control.
• Documents trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Follows safe yard switching procedures.
• Uses hand-to-surface methods for all package handling.
• Loads and unloads packages onto/from delivery vehicles, trailers, carts, or conveyor systems.
• Lifts, carries, pushes and pulls packages for 2–4 hour shifts.
• Determines conveyor system by scanning packages, reading labels and charts, and sorts accordingly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
