Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a Switcher/Package Handler to move trailers between yards and doors, and to assist with heavy package handling. Shifts are early mornings with a focus on safe, efficient operations.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to read labels, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Ability to operate yard equipment and scanners is essential; DOT compliance and a valid license are required.

Qualifications

• No degree required.
• Six months experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license and maintain a CDL/DOT file.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.

Responsibilities

• Perform trailer switches defined as hooking and moving a parked trailer from the yard to a load/unload door or from a door to the yard.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Follow safety processes and procedures for yard switching.
