Aubergine Kitchen is hiring a part-time Food Prep team member in Meridian, Idaho. The role focuses on ingredient preparation, following recipes, and maintaining food safety. Must be able to communicate in English, Spanish, or Portuguese and lift up to 50 lbs.

Training provided and a Food Handler Certificate is required within 14 days of hire. Shifts are early, 6:30am–2pm, Monday/Wednesday/Friday with weekends including some holidays; Sundays closed.

Qualifications

• Able to communicate in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
• Speed and efficiency with repetitive tasks; follow instructions carefully.
• 21+; prior experience in a restaurant or professional kitchen required.
• Onboarding and position-specific training; Food Handler Certificate within 14 days (company-supported).
• Available on weekends/holidays (closed Sundays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, July 4th).
• Stand/move for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs; work around heat, steam, and cold.

Responsibilities

• Ingredient preparation per instructions and recipes—washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing with precision.
• Follow portioning guidelines to ensure consistent flavor, appearance, and quality in every batch.
• Organize and rotate all items using FIFO; label products with date and name per Aubergine's standards.
• Keep workstation clean, organized, and compliant with food safety standards throughout the shift.
• Inform your manager immediately if a recipe, ingredient, or instruction is unclear, incorrect, or unavailable.
