Job summary

People First Employment in California is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our production team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot machinery, perform routine adjustments, and uphold HACCP/GMP standards while working Monday through Friday with a 3:00 AM start and an 10-12 hour shift.

Pay is $18.00 per hour with overtime. This is a long-term, full-time role requiring safety awareness, ability to lift up to 50 lbs,

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a machine operator in a food manufacturing or similar environment preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards (GMP, HACCP).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor food production machinery according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Set up machines before the start of a production run and perform routine machine adjustments as needed.
• Perform quality checks to ensure products meet company standards and report any defects or issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of machinery and work area in compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
• Record production data accurately, including machine settings, batch numbers, and output quantities.
• Identify and elevate mechanical or operational issues to maintenance or supervisors.
• Assist with changeovers and cleaning between product runs to avoid cross-contamination.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and efficiency.
