Job summary

B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group is seeking a cook for the Holiday Inn Washington Dulles Airport portfolio to prepare and cook food items to brand standards.

Support to other cooks and ensure compliance with health regulations; contribute to financial results, guest satisfaction and team relations. This role requires working morning shifts starting at 5am and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hotel kitchen.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• College and/or culinary degree or equivalent experience required.
• 2+ years of progressive cook or kitchen experience required.
• Must be detail oriented, have the ability to communicate well with all levels within and outside the organization, and be able to problem-solve with team members.
• Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical requirements: ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Food Quality and Production: maintain high quality and production to standards; conduct line checks and audits; implement changes to improve quality.
• Presentation / Menu Changes: ensure outstanding presentation using use records and photos; monitor plate setups to photo standards.
• Cost Control: follow procurement guidelines; manage food cost and assets within budget.
• Guest Service: maintain guest satisfaction by meeting standards and addressing concerns; collaborate with kitchen staff on operations.
• Safety/Risk Management: uphold food safety standards and storage; ensure a clean safe work environment; follow procedures for incidents.
• Self/Workload Management: communicate effectively; promote collaboration; adhere to SOPs.
