Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock/warehouse associate to transport freight across dock areas and assist with loading to trailers. Duties include operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, verifying documentation, and securing freight.

Position requires basic math, good communication, and ability to lift up to 100 pounds; prior warehouse experience preferred. Hours may vary with operations, and FedEx is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using equipment such as forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify freight documentation matches description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
