Job summary

Enterprise For Progress In The Community (EPIC) seeks a Transportation Assistant to supervise children on bus runs, ensure safe entry/exit, and maintain supervision throughout the day. The role includes classroom support, paperwork, and active participation in family and staff events.

Requirements include HS/GED, First Aid/CPR, and background checks. The position may involve up to 40 hours weekly and some travel between sites.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• At least 1 year of work experience with young children.
• Must pass initial and periodic background checks.
• Provide proof of MMR vaccination or immunity.
• Current food handler's card is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure children enter/exit bus safely and remain seated.
• Release children to authorized individuals per policy.
• Maintain age-appropriate activities on the bus.
• Assist in classroom during two bus runs daily.
• Complete required paperwork (attendance, slips).
• Respond to emergencies and provide first aid if needed.
• Communicate with parents and staff about events.
• Attend trainings and center meetings as required.
• Support center policies and supervision practices.
• Assist in other areas when needed.
• Maintain a safe, healthy, sanitary environment.
• Participate in family nights and staff development.
