Job summary

Battle Creek Public Schools is seeking an Early Learning Room (ELR) Program Paraprofessional to support students with behavioral needs and assist in delivering structured instruction. This role involves data documentation, collaboration with teachers, and contributing to Positive Behavior Support initiatives.

The position offers compensation at $22.50 per hour, a 193-day calendar, and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Complete two years of study at an accredited institution (equal to 60 semester hours) or an associate degree.
• Pass approved formal state academic assessments in reading, writing, and mathematics.
• SAT and Parapro Assessment scores may be required as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and support students with self-control behavior exceptionalities.
• Provide student feedback with peer and adult social interaction.
• Reinforce student success following structured protocols and data documentation methods.
• Participate in professional learning community and ongoing training.
• Assist in building positive relationships between students, schools and community organizations.
• Assist teacher in developing student behavior and academic goals.
• Maintain order in the absence of the lead teacher.
• Assist during parent conferences and concerns.
• Participate in formative and summative assessments to determine progress.
