Northwest Regional Education Service District is seeking an Instructional Assistant for the antkwak Early Learning Center in Hillsboro. The role supports IEP/IFSP goals, supervises student safety, and assists licensed staff in delivering instruction.

The position requires a high school diploma, background registry clearance, and a valid driver's license. Spanish skills are preferred, and the role offers a classified salary with 0.9375 FTE.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift students from a wheelchair to the floor and back, and on and off a changing table.
• Child Care Central Background Registry Clearance required for Early Learning positions/worksites.
• Valid driver's license; reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance.
• Spanish language ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instructional materials under the direction of a licensed teacher.
• Provide instruction under the direction of a licensed teacher.
• Assist the teacher in working with students to complete assignments.
• Assist the teacher in grading and recording students' assignments.
• Take and maintain data as needed and required by the licensed teacher.
• Assist students with restroom needs as advised.
• Maintain student safety and monitor behavior at recess, in class and during bus loading/unloading.
• Note discipline issues and complete accurate paperwork for reporting such incidents.
• Participate in restraint training as required.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with staff and customers at all levels.
• Wash and dry children’s clothing as needed.
• Wash dishes and toys as advised.
• Sanitize desks, tables, straws, and equipment as advised.
• Arrange classroom furniture as advised.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
