Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• CDA credential at time of hire or within 2 years.
• Infant/Toddler CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
• Background check required (fingerprints).
• Knowledge of Alaska Native and American Indian community needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing lesson plans to support children and families.
• Use diverse teaching strategies addressing physical, emotional, social, cultural, cognitive, and language needs.
• Provide a safe, respectful classroom with consistent boundaries.
• Build secure, trusting relationships with children and families.
• Offer experiences fostering curiosity, initiative, problem solving, and creativity.
• Conduct developmental screenings across multiple domains.
• Maintain open relationships with families and encourage involvement.
• Provide coverage at the Drop-in Center as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and perform other duties as assigned.
