Job summary

Fairbanks-Native-Association is seeking a Kitchen/Classroom Aide in Fairbanks, AK, to support Head Start nutrition and classroom activities. Under supervision, you will assist in meal prep, sanitation, and inventory while delivering meals to classrooms and participating in planning with cooks and teachers.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or culinary training, plus one year of institutional cooking experience.

Qualifications

• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Ability to work with Alaska Native/American Indian and other populations.
• Knowledge of approved sanitation methods and safe food prep.
• Ability to read and write clearly; basic math knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist with breakfast, lunch, and snacks for up to 50+ children.
• Deliver food to classrooms and return carts after meals.
• Sanitize dishes and kitchen equipment; store items properly.
• Adhere to sanitation and safety requirements; weekly deep cleaning.
• Stock and label food items with open date and expiration date.
• Prepare snacks and specialty foods for events; assist with menu planning.
