Job summary

Harford Community College seeks a qualified leader to supervise and operate the college's Early Learning Center, ensuring OCC and college standards are met. You will communicate with parents, supervise staff, manage schedules, and coordinate budget planning and field trips.

The role includes teaching duties as needed, maintaining records, and collaborating with the Finance Department to handle ELC payments. Strong regulatory knowledge and a proactive, organized approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education required.
• Three years minimum experience supervising staff in an early childhood setting.
• 90 Child Education certificate and/or CDA National Credential.
• CPR and First Aid certification by start of employment.
• Medication Administration certification by start of employment.
• Minimum of twelve hours of job-related CEUs annually.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and operate the Early Learning Center in compliance with College and OCC regulations.
• Communicate with parents, children and staff; ensure center is clean and organized.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and staff scheduling; lead meetings and trainings.
• Maintain accurate employee and student records; schedule classes in Destiny One.
• Assist Finance with ELC payments; support enrollment growth and retention.
• Ensure curriculums are followed and policies are implemented; provide staff feedback.
• Part-time teaching or classroom assistance as needed; coordinate snacks and breakfast.
• Attend monthly director and OCC meetings.
