UAH College of Business in Alabama seeks an Assistant Director of the Early Learning Center Curriculum and Instruction to lead curriculum, assessment, and classroom management for the Rise program in compliance with licensing and NAEYC standards.

The role partners with the Executive Director to manage daily operations, hire and coach staff, and coordinate professional development. It also supports research and clinical experiences for students.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field.
  • Licensed early childhood, early childhood special education, elementary, or special education teacher.
  • 3 years of full-time, verifiable administrative work experience (which includes teaching or related work experience).
  • Experience using MS Office Suite.
  • Must have excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Executive Director in the management of the daily operations of the Early Learning Center and serve as the educational lead for Rise classrooms.
  • Oversee development of curriculum that facilitates growth and inclusive practices.
  • Coordinate staff professional development and ensure integration of program components.
  • Provide training and coaching on curriculum, assessment, and classroom management per policies and licensing.
  • Support risk management processes, safety procedures, and NAEYC accreditation maintenance.
  • Develop and implement IFSPs and IEPs, assist in transitions between educational environments.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, classroom observations, and family engagement.
  • Collaborate with faculty on internships and clinical experiences, and communicate with parents and community partners.
  • Gather reports and manage HR and confidential records in compliance with policies.
  • Assist Executive Director with special projects and events.
  • Stay updated on new trends in early intervention and early childhood education.
