Job summary

LIFT Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking an Early Learning Center Cook for its program in Oklahoma. The role covers purchasing, preparing, cooking and serving meals for children and staff, with responsibilities for paperwork and compliance with CACFP and Head Start standards.

The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm, and requires reading, speaking and writing English proficiently. Safety-sensitive and nonsmoking policies apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Food Handlers Card is required.
• Knowledge of proper food storage, preparation and cooking, recipe usage, weights and measures, safety practices.
• Basic cooking skills and experience in food service and volume meal preparation.
• Superior cleaning and organization skills.
• Basic math and use of a calculator.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, formulate, coordinate and implement kitchen management systems per CACFP and Head Start standards.
• Implement cycle menu according to policies and CACFP guidelines.
• Review menus, purchase supplies, inventory, and store food; manage on-site meals and field trips.
• Maintain CACFP paperwork and monthly reports; submit on time.
• Post CACFP public notices.
• Refer child nutrition concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety of kitchen and dining areas per state requirements.
• Assist other staff and perform duties as assigned.
