Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is hiring for both full-time and part-time assistant teachers at multiple centers across West Michigan. The Early Learning Assistant Teacher will assist in planning, developing, and implementing classroom activities for infant, toddler, or preschool programs. This position requires on site, face-to-face leadership.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or CDA preferred; enrollment in CDA/college program acceptable.
• Three to six months childcare-related experience or equivalent.
• Ability to interact with people of diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and leading daily lesson plans.
• Actively engage with children in the classroom.
• Assist with daily parent communication.
• Prepare materials for daily activities.
• Maintain records of attendance, arrival, and departure times.
• Maintain supervision of children.
• Assist with parent-teacher conferences as needed.
• Communicate effectively with the classroom teaching team.
• Perform other functions to support smooth operations.
