Job summary

Hawaii State Department of Education is seeking an Early Learning Educational Assistant for EOEL Prekindergarten classrooms. The role involves independently providing learning experiences across developmental domains in line with established guidelines and the classroom teacher's directions.

Responsibilities include creating engaging learning environments, implementing activities, observing progress, and ensuring health and safety; duties also cover preparing materials and supervising

Qualifications

• Possession of a current CDA Credential.
• Successful completion of training for a certificate that meets the requirements for CDA Credential preparation, including university coursework and 120 hours of formal training in early childhood education.
• Be enrolled in a program preparing to obtain a CDA Credential with annual progress evidence to EOEL.

Responsibilities

• Cultivates healthy, challenging learning environments and experiences; engages with children during play to promote development across all domains.
• Implements and assesses learning experiences based on teacher plans; sets up activities in learning centers and guides group/individual activities.
• Observes and documents children's development and learning; collects data as directed by the teacher.
• Ensures health and safety for children; assists with toileting, handwashing, eating, resting, and safe play; reports unsafe conditions.
• Prepares and maintains materials and environments for learning; supports teacher with modifications and adaptations.
• Supervises before, during, and after class activities.
