This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill Student Assistant assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises. You will be contacted by the hiring manager should the department/division be interested in scheduling an interview. AN APPLICATION IS VALID FOR ONE YEAR, AT WHICH TIME APPLICANTS WISHING TO REMAIN IN THE POOL MUST REAPPLY AND UPDATE THEIR INFORMATION.
This is a Labor Intensive position which requires a drug and physical exam for employment as well as receipt of a Negative TB Test.

Job Description Summary
The purpose of this position is to assist in meeting the social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of a group of young children and model for Child Development/Education ( CDEC ) students appropriate teaching and care-giving practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Current Del Mar College student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours while employed.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of Texas Child Care Minimum Standards as well as developmentally appropriate teaching and care-giving practices for children 18 months through 5 years.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in communicating with other staff, parents, DMC students and faculty as well as modeling appropriate language, vocabulary and writing for children.
Preferred Qualifications
Enrolled in 6 credit hours of Early Childhood courses while employed.
Completion of 6 credit hours in Child Development or Early Education ***OR*** a Child Development Associate ( CDA ) Credential (transcript required with application).
Current Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification (documentation of current certification required with application).
Food Handler’s Certificate (documentation of current certification required with application).
