Job summary

Sevita is seeking an Early Intervention Specialist - School-Age in the Hesperia area of California. The role involves in-school, 1-on-1 work with school-age children (4–21) who have developmental disabilities, delivering weekly intervention and documenting progress.

The position starts part-time (about 20–25 hours/week) with potential to grow to full time based on caseload. A supporting benefits package, paid time off, and opportunities for advancement are available through Sevita.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • One year experience with infants or young children and their parents/guardians.
  • ABA and/or Behavior Management skills/experience desirable.
  • Valid CA driver's license in good standing; at least one year history as a licensed driver.
  • Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.
  • Availability during regular school hours (Mon-Fri, 8am–3pm).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and provide weekly early intervention in school settings for a caseload of children/adolescents with developmental disabilities.
  • Administer and document all program assessments and updates to meet timelines.
  • Design, implement, and adapt activities for behavioral, language, cognitive, motor, sensory, self-help, and social-emotional development.
  • Model effective adult-child interactions and provide parents with written weekly activities and coaching.
  • Monitor and share the child’s progress with the family and team.

Early Intervention Specialist - School-Age

HOURLY PAY: $20.20/hour plus mileage reimbursement

Positions start as part-time hours (about 20-25 per week); potential to build up to full-time hours - depending on availability and caseload in certain areas

Coverage area: Hesperia, Apple Valley, Victorville, Adelanto and surrounding areas

Raising a child with a developmental disability is a journey that takes knowledge, love, patience, and support. You will be part of a team that provides in-home early intervention specialized services for school-age children and youth where they can naturally learn and develop.

Current openings are for School-age range (4 to 21 years old): Our Specialists work in school settings 1-on-1 with children who have been diagnosed with an intellectual or developmental disability.

  • Plan, schedule and provide weekly early intervention in school settings for a caseload of children/adolescents with developmental disabilities (Autism, down's syndrome, etc.).
  • Administer and document all program assessments and updates accurately to meet timelines.
  • Design, implement, and adapt activities for behavioral, language, cognitive, fine and gross motor, sensory, self-help, and social/emotional development, for each individual child, utilizing best practices.
  • Model effective adult-child interactions and provide written information on parenting, child development, and provide parents with written weekly activities and effective coaching.
  • Monitor, document, and share the child’s progress with the family and team.

Qualifications
  • Education:
    • For School-age position: High School diploma (or equivalent/GED) required
  • Experience: One year experience working/volunteering with infants or young children and their parents/guardians
    • For school-age program position: ABA and/or Behavior Management skills/experience/training is highly desired
  • License: Valid CA driver’s license in good standing;
    • Also must have at least one year of history as a licensed driver (in any US state)
  • Vehicle: Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance coverage
