Job summary

Sevita’s Mentor Community Services in California seeks an Early Intervention Specialist - Therapeutic to support infants and toddlers in their homes. Start is part-time (about 20-25 hours/week) with potential to grow into a full-time caseload as availability allows, and includes mileage reimbursement.

You will plan and deliver weekly services, document assessments, and coach families on developmental activities, working within a compassionate, high-quality care team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in health/human services-related major is required.
  • If no degree, one year of full-time college per year of experience with children may substitute.
  • Bachelor’s degree may waive some experience requirements.
  • CA driver’s license in good standing with at least one year history as a licensed driver.
  • Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.
  • Strong communication, compassion, organization, and reliability.
  • Availability during daytime with some evenings/weekends as needed.
  • In-home services with infants and toddlers.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule and provide weekly in-home early educational services for a caseload of infant/toddlers with disabilities including developmental delays and programs for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders.
  • Administer and document all program assessments and updates to meet timelines.
  • Design, implement, and adapt activities for language, cognitive, motor, sensory, self-help, and social/emotional development for each child.
  • Model effective adult-child interactions and provide parents/guardians with written weekly activities and coaching.
  • Monitor, document, and share the child’s progress with the family and team.

Early Intervention Specialist - Therapeutic

HOURLY PAY: $21.30/hour plus mileage reimbursement

Positions start as part-time hours (about 20-25 per week); potential to build up to full-time hours - depending on availability and caseload in the area

Raising a child with a developmental disability is a journey that takes knowledge, love, patience, and support. You will be part of a team that provides in-home early intervention specialized services for infants and toddlers where they can naturally learn and develop.

  • Plan, schedule and provide weekly early educational in-home services for a caseload of infant/toddlers with disabilities including developmental delays and programs for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders.
  • Administer and document all program assessments and updates accurately to meet timelines.
  • Design, implement, and adapt activities for language, cognitive, fine and gross motor, sensory, self-help, and social/emotional development, for each individual child, utilizing best practices.
  • Model effective adult-child interactions and provide written information on parenting, child development, and provide parents/guardians with written weekly activities and effective coaching.
  • Monitor, document, and share the child’s progress with the family and team.

Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in health/human services-related major required
  • If you do not have a Bachelor's Degree: May substitute one year of full time college for each year of experience working/volunteering with children (For example, if you have the equivalent of two years of full-time college classes PLUS 2 or more years of experience working directly with children we will consider this as meeting the requirement)
  • *Note: if candidate has Bachelor's degree, then experience may not be required
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: Please make sure to add any and all experience working AND volunteering directly with children to your application or resume.   • License: Valid CA driver’s license in good standing;
    • Also must have at least one year of history as a licensed driver (in any US state)
  • Vehicle: Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance coverage
