Job summary

Rappahannock Area Community Services Board seeks a PE-ID Special Educator to provide early intervention services to birth-3 children in their homes. The role emphasizes parent coaching and development of cognitive and play skills within family routines.

The educator will collaborate with therapists and service coordinators, conduct developmental assessments, and support families through transitions, with a focus on individualized plans and compliance with Part C guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Education, Behavioral Sciences or related field.
• Master's Degree preferred in Education, Behavioral Sciences or related field and some professional experience providing direct services to children and infants.

Responsibilities

• Administers, analyzes and interprets results of standardized assessment instruments for infant/toddler development.
• Develops goals and provides direct therapeutic intervention integrated with family routines.
• Conducts parent training including modeling, teaching, and coaching play-based techniques.
• Provides support for parents and teaches parenting skills.
• Provides service coordination to families under Part C of IDEA.
• Collaborates with PE-ID staff to provide cohesive services.
• Facilitates links to services and supports in the community.
• Prepares and maintains case files, progress reports, and Medicaid-related documentation.
