Job summary

The Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans is seeking an Early Head Start Teacher to join our New Orleans program. You will organize classroom spaces, develop weekly lesson plans, and support children’s development in line with Head Start standards and licensing requirements.

You will foster inclusive relationships with families, document progress using standard assessments, and help create a safe, engaging learning environment that respects each child’s home language and culture.

Qualifications

• CDA credential with three years of early childhood education experience.
• Ability to pursue an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education.
• Knowledge of infant and toddler development and best practices.
• Proven proficiency in verbal and written communication with families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Organize classroom space and materials to meet children's needs per Head Start.
• Develop and submit weekly lesson plans aligned with curriculum.
• Foster an inclusive classroom and supportive relationships.
• Maintain child records and document progress using assessments.
• Ensure health, safety and licensing compliance.
