Job summary

CLACKAMAS COUNTY CHILDREN'S COMMISSION, INC. is seeking a part-time Classroom Aide to assist teachers in daily activities and lesson plans. You will help ensure supplies, document child behavior observations, and participate in events such as Open House, while applying a PBIS approach to guide children.

The role requires strong teamwork, reliability, and adherence to program policies, with duties including child care at family gatherings and meal prep support according to CACFP guidelines.

Qualifications

• U.S. High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• Current Child Development Associate (CDA), or ability to complete CDA within one year of hire preferred
• Knowledge of child development preferred
• Experience working with children ages three to five preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist Teacher and Assistant Teacher in carrying out daily classroom activities and schedules.
• Assist Teacher with follow-through and evaluation of the daily lesson plan.
• Assist Teacher and Assistant Teacher with assuring the class is equipped with all needed materials and supplies.
• Assist with input of child behavior observation notes for individualization.
• Participate in Open House and other class and center events.
• Use PBIS to direct and guide children.
• Assist with bus monitor duties if needed.
• Keep the classroom neat, safe, and clutter-free.
• Provide child care at Family Gatherings if needed.
• Assist in preparing food for meals per CACFP guidelines.
