Job summary

SCMCAA is seeking an EHS Class Aide to provide daily assistance in the Early Head Start classroom alongside Lead Teacher and Education Manager. You will support an educational environment for all children, including one-on-one attention for children with special needs, and help with classroom, playground, and field trip activities.

The role requires teamwork, adherence to program standards, and the ability to lift up to 55 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess or obtain a CDA credential and begin CDA classes within six months of hire date.
• Knowledge of program curriculum and developmentally appropriate practice.

Responsibilities

• Work as a team with teaching staff and assist with daily activities.
• Assist with special needs children and other children in the classroom, including in bathrooms, mealtimes, playground, and field trips.
• Assist with documentation of required paperwork for children with special needs.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment and report accidents to supervisor.
• Participate in Early Head Start training and attend required meetings.
